In a few places of my newly installed granite there is a 1 4 inch gap between where the wall meets the granite.

If the granite is too thin they can epoxy the pieces together to get a pretty uniform look.
If this is granite i would have a granite fabricator cut pieces to be installed as a backsplash piece.

I m not so upset where it will be covered by tile backsplash but on the wall that will be painted the granite place told me to have my husband caulk the area with painters caulk.

When a countertop unit is installed you want to ensure that whoever is installing or has installed the unit has done so correctly.
